Women’s Bible Study
Led by Rev. Phyllis McDougal
Wednesday mornings starting September 19

This class will explore the book, “The Rapture Exposed: The Message of Hope in the Book of Revelation” by Barbara R. Rossing.  In The Rapture Exposed, the book argues that this script for the world’s future is nothing more than a disingenuous distortion of the Bible, based on a psychology of fear.  The truth is that Revelation offers a vision of God’s healing love for the world.  The Rapture Exposed will stir the heart and honor the mind.  The class will begin on September 19 and last through November 14.  The class will meet on Wednesdays in room 231 of the main building from 9:30-11:00 a.m.  Cost of the class is $15 which covers the cost of the book. Register now

Faith Groups - A New Small Group Opportunity

First United Methodist Church, Fort Worth is launching a new small group ministry called Faith Groups.  Faith groups are small groups that will meet for an hour on a weekly basis.  These groups will help members grow in their faith, connect persons to one another outside of our traditional church settings, and hold each other accountable as the group journeys together in faith.  The format will be open dialogue centered on focused questions. Discussions may include notes from prior Sunday’s sermon or reflecting theologically on current topics.  Groups will be forming throughout the year.  To sign up for this new exciting adventure, contact Rev. Gena Anderson at ganderson@MyFUMC.org or call 817/339-5067.
